HEADING TO NEW YORK FASHION WEEK FOR AN IMMERSIVE BRIZO X JASON WU BRAND LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Welcome back, lovelies! I’m so glad you’re here. It’s been a minute, but I have such fun news to share! I’ve just returned from NEW YORK CITY, courtesy of Brizo Faucets and Jason Wu, where it was ALL about “investing in brand relationships to build a stronger business”.

BRAND RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTINUING EDUCATION

Ever wonder why designers spend so much time and resources attending trade shows, visiting showrooms and factories, and spend countless hours continuing their education, and why our brand relationships are our BIGGEST and most TREASURED ASSET; and why YOU (our clients) actually benefit the MOST?

The answer is pretty simple. Our clients TRUST US. There is no other way for my team to truly specify and recommend products to our clients unless we have either tried the product ourselves, or at the very least, have an in-depth up-to-date comprehensive knowledge and experience with the product, which includes understanding the manufacturers “why”, customer service, and business practices.

This “knowledge” provides the end user, (our clients), with the best possible ability to make the most informed decision possible on product(s), and as a result, enables them to select the product that not only performs, but truly best suits their needs.

NEW YORK CITY | IT DOESN’T FEEL LIKE WORK

It was an unforgettable week in New York City with the teams from Brizo Faucets and Jason Wu as I attended New York Fashion week! During an immersive hands-on learning experience, we traveled behind the scenes with one of my favorite plumbing fixture brands, and the very lovely, candid, and massively talented, Jason Wu, to experience (not only) the “WHY” behind Jason’s glorious Brizo faucet Collection, but the entire Brizo collection and manufacturing process.

The event began with a long travel day from Los Angeles to New York, and a late cocktail welcome at the beautiful Eventi Hotel in Manhattan’s lively, Chelsea. There were long happy hugs and anticipation in the air for a wonderful week ahead.

I must say, the service at this award winning hotel was absolutely impeccable.

BRIZO FAUCETS | WHERE FASHION MEETS FAUCETS

Brizo is a luxury fittings brand for those who understand that fashion isn’t merely about the clothes they wear—it’s about their entire lifestyle.

We create distinctive designs that don’t just complete rooms, they inspire spaces.

To that end, Brizo creates high-end collections for the kitchen, bath and shower that are constantly pushing the limits on design, craftsmanship and innovation. No detail is ever too small to be thoughtfully designed, meticulously handcrafted—and thoroughly obsessed over.” – Courtesy, Brizo Faucets

REAL LIFE SPECIFICATIONS

It’s no secret that we LOVE specifying Brizo products in our projects. When it comes to quality, beauty, durability, function and attention to detail, BRIZO checks ALL the boxes. Here’s a peek of one of our latest projects where BRIZO was the star of the show!

DAY ONE | BUSINESS SESSIONS AND NETWORKING

It was up and at em’ for a full day of business sessions, introductions, learning, curating ideas, brainstorming, and hands-on design inspiring activities experiencing the luxurious Brizo collection.

We were introduced to the design philosophy behind the stunning Jason Wu x Brizo Collection, and the inspiration was overwhelming! Jason has such an impressive focus on detail and design intention.

THE SPIRIT OF THE MODERN GODDESS

“FASHION ISN’T A SET OF RULES TO BE FOLLOWED. IT’S THE STATEMENT YOU MAKE AS YOU MOVE THROUGH THE WORLD. THE NARRATIVE YOU CREATE WITH EVERY DETAIL OF YOUR LIFE. SET FREE FROM EXPECTATIONS AND CONVENTION. YOU CAN CHART YOUR OWN COURSE TO SHAPE A LFE OF BEAUTY ON YOUR OWN TERMS THAT IS THE SPIRIT OF THE MODERN GODDESS.” – Brizo

I was delighted to learn about Brizo’s beautiful and strong, brand new campaign: The Modern Goddess. “The modern Goddess is a muse for anyone and everyone.” – Brizo

From Left to Right – Lucia McBroom, Tommy Zung, Heidi Woodman, Tiffany Thompson, and Athena Calderon

What a treat to listen to these brilliant leaders in our design and architecture industry present their intimate and candid thoughts on design, architecture, self discovery and business.

Our first day concluded with a delicious evening at Loring Place in the heart of Greenwich Village.

DAY TWO | BRAND EXPERIENCE AND PHOTOSHOOT

Day two was a powerful bespoke Brizo brand experience and product research day with the Brizo team.

One of the most intriguing and surprising activities involved experiencing design through the 5 senses; sight, sound, touch, smell and taste. It was an unexpected moment of growth, where I will most definitely take some of the key elements of this activity and apply it to my own business discovery service by expanding how we present our client questionnaires during our initial inquiry steps.

Besides having the opportunity to understand how, “great minds think UN-alike”, and to have lengthy and robust breakout sessions to discuss design trends in the home (kitchen and bath specifically), the day also consisted of an extraordinary once-in-a-lifetime experience with the incredible fashion photographer, Chris Knight, and stylist, Brendan Cannon. It was an inspiring day of new ideas, new situations, new experiences, and overcoming some old ideas that were no longer worth holding on to.

It was an incredibly inspiring day, and one I will never forget.

We ended day two with a fabulous dinner at the INCREDIBLE Electric Lemon on the 24th floor of the Equinox Hotel in NYC’s Hudson Yards.

It was an unbelievable night with the most energizing, lovely, creative and supportive professionals in our design industry; and check out the view!

DAY THREE | NEW YORK FASHION WEEK AND DINNER WITH JASON WU

Day three started with a champagne brunch and then it was off to NEW YORK FASHION WEEK, and a front row seat to Jason Wu’s delicious show. His collection was BRILLIANT.

Friends, it was a BUCKET LIST kind of day!

After the show it was off to cocktails and conversations with Jason Wu atop one of the most fascinating buildings in NYC with a view that was TO DIE FOR.

Our intimate evening started at Overstory, a contemporary cocktail bar located in the heart of the financial district on the 64th floor of 70 Pine Street, one floor above SAGA Restaurant, where we enjoyed an intimate conversation and cocktails with Jason Wu, and the Brizo team.

IN CLOSING | THANK YOU IS A MASSIVE UNDERSTATEMENT

It was a week of growing, expanding, learning and absolute joy. Not that I needed to fall in love with Brizo, as I already am and will continue to be a forever fan of Brizo’s beautiful products. It was an honor to lend my voice to the creative future of the Brizo collections, and see sneak peeks of what the future holds for the entire Brizo brand. All I can say is, it will be worth waiting for!

Not only was the plumbing nerd in me beyond excited and oh so satisfied, my inner fashionista was thrilled and filled with wonder and gratitude.
