Welcome back! We’ve got great news to share and “excited” doesn’t even begin to describe the feeling of being selected to join the first ever 2019 Monogram Appliances Designer Council. What an honor it was to have a premier brand like Monogram, request your opinions and creative input; and to be in the good company of such brilliant and diverse talent! It was a deeply inspiring experience.
The goal of the Design Council is to elevate and enhance the value of design. The community includes leaders from architecture, interior design and landscape design firms, as well as leaders of relevant product, service and media companies.
Following a wonderful 5-star invitation to travel and explore Monogram’s new showroom in Chicago earlier this year, you can imagine how thrilled I was to have the opportunity to nurture and FURTHER develop our relationship by accepting an exciting year-long advisory commitment to the 2019 Designer Council for Monogram Appliances.
TRAINING. LEARNING. GLASS BLOWING.
Here’s a little recap of my trip to Monogram headquarters in Kentucky. It was a week of meetings, round tables, education, inspiration, tours, training, discussions, and loads of self-prepared deliciousness. I am massively moved and grateful to be a part of this elite team that will inspire and influence the future of these beautiful appliances.
It certainly set a notably positive precedence for what’s to come for our collaboration!
Similar to our time spent in Chicago, the training and education was paramount. We discussed what it meant to be an ambassador for Monogram Appliances, and what that important job title entailed.
One of the most exciting creative activities was glass blowing!
We watched the masters display their craft as they created beautiful glass pieces right before our eyes, and then it was our turn to create our own most beautiful glass tumbler.
FACTORY TOUR. COOKING. BRAINSTORMING THE DESIGN DETAILS.
One thing that I loved most about this trip was the in-depth tours at the Monogram headquarters and factories. Seeing the massive headquarters facility, where they produce, design and brainstorm all of their design concepts, and meeting the diverse family of employees in person, was inspiring.
It was a honor to see and hear first-hand, about their experiences working with Monogram; the commitment that Monogram has for their employees; and the detailed growth plan for Monogram’s expansion. I felt deeply honored to be in such brilliant company.
Of course we can’t reflect on our trip and Monogram’s beautiful appliances without talking about FOOD. Each day we experienced cooking as well, and found the best way to fall in love with an appliance is to actually USE IT. And that we did.
As the 2019 inaugural Design Council team, we discussed many new concepts with the Monogram design teams that centered around defining the top-secret next generation of Monogram appliances. It was exhilarating, to say the least.
Our beautiful relationship with not only the designer council, but with the entire Monogram team, has since blossomed and currently remains rich and personal, with a creative history that will surely remain unmatched.
