One of the most important design elements to consider in a new kitchen or remodel is the lighting plan. There are many choices and styles to choose from and it can be OVERWHELMING.

It is very important to create a strategy and know your style objectives well before you begin shopping. Proper planning and preparation will not only save you time and money, it will reduce your stress and disappointment. Of course you will need to discuss ALL lighting and electrical selections and installation with your licensed electrician or General Contractor, but the process of selection should be something you feel empowered to do yourself.

As we move into the holiday celebrations and family gatherings it’s clear today (more than ever) that TODAY’S FAMILY IS CHANGING. Holiday greetings, my lovelies! Ever since was a very young girl I wanted to be a designer and home decor shopkeeper! Playing “shop” for hours and hours, sewing my own drapes and pillows out of sheets, and constantly rearranging the furniture was my jam. Today, I am beyond grateful that I can say I have manifested BOTH; and although it’s not (yet) a very “BIG” shop … it means the world to me that it is no longer a thought or a dream! It is real, and it brings me pure joy to “curate” my little shop for you!

Happy Holidays, my friends! It's the last weekend before Christmas which means it's full steam ahead!!! Heading into the weekend feeling extra sentimental, super excited, and deeply grateful for the holidays this year! I can’t wait to clock out, breathe deep, make new family memories and reminisce about treasured ones, bake and eat plenty of cookies…and of course, sleep in! And who wouldn’t love to sleep in right here; with such a crisp yet cozy, wintery vibe, I would surely linger…☃️

More importantly though…This year is about being “present” for every single big and little moment. That is the goal. It’s not the about the fancy designer Christmas decor, or the messy kitchen covered in flour (although those are both VERY beautiful things), or the perfect table setting; this year it’s about being fully awake and alive in every laugh, every tear, every hug, and every moment.

Happy #designtalktuesday! As most of you know, we launched our first holiday giveaway yesterday, a One-On-One Design Consultation designed to help you get the most out of your new build, remodel, or interior design experience for ANY phase of your project.

If you aren't already entered, click on the link in our stories or IG bio and subscribe to our newsletter and you'll automatically be entered to win! The giveaway ends Wednesday, 12/14 at midnight so in the meantime, checkout our tips below on how to best prepare for an expert consultation!

+ Take great pictures of your existing space. Send us a minimum of 6-7 images. Include any additional pics that might help us understand the details or challenges we will be discussing.

+ Send us a min of 5 inspirational images of spaces you would like to have. Make note of what you love about each image.

+ Number the spaces by priority that you want to focus on during our call. Our time will go quickly and we want to make sure to touch on all your most important items.

+ Have a list questions ready for the end of our session to get the most of our time together.

+ It is always most efficient if you already have a floor plan of the spaces we will be discussing. However, if not, you will want to send us measurements of your space. Once we schedule your consultation, we will provide you with an easy step-by-step guide to measuring your space.

+ If furnishings are on your list of requests, think about your budget in advance, and how you want to delegate those funds within the scope of work for each space. This will make it easier to recommend brands that will be aligned with your budget.

Sundays are a very special day for our family; it’s time to put down the phone, share prayers, chill out, cook and connect with loved ones, and rest. Today, we are so excited to be heading OUT on this cozy, rainy day to celebrate a wedding, and couldn’t be more grateful to be part of this sacred milestone for someone we so deeply love!
