Hi, Friends, we’re back, and although we’ve been away from posting a bit, the past few months have been anything but quiet! In fact, even though we slowed ourselves down to focus on an intentional reset, we’ve been busy!

We’ve been developing exciting projects, working with dream clients, designing new Seasonal Living collections, expanding our business while also fine tuning our strategies and vision; and after 10 years in the same office, finally moving into a new studio! (Can I get an AMEN for faith, slow growth, and patience!)

But beyond the momentum and growth, this season also gave us something deeply personal and invaluable: the opportunity to reconnect with our deeper purpose in life, our faith, and reestablish our vision for our business. We took time to be still; to review, refine, refocus; to reenergize our creativity, learn new skills, and rediscover our truth and the soul of what makes FOUR POINT DESIGN BUILD so meaningful to us - and ultimately to YOU. This process has been grounding, inspiring, empowering, and clarifying — reaffirming why we love what we do.

To our longtime supporters, THANK YOU for sticking with us during the quieter seasons. Your support, encouragement, and trust mean more than you know. And to all of our newcomers - WELCOME! We are very grateful you’re here.

Midweek check-in, my lovelies! Can you believe we’re already in the homestretch before the holidays? The studio is buzzing as we put the finishing touches on projects we can’t wait to wrap up for Christmas. My fellow designers know that unique feeling of joyful excitement and stressful crunch time energy right now — late nights, coffee, site visits, and the joy of seeing everything come together beautifully.

This gorgeous bathroom is one of our most loved completed projects, and honestly, it feels like a breath of fresh air every time I see it — calm, refined, elegant, and a little reminder of why we love what we do. Every October, I find myself coming back to this extraordinary project. Hey, Friends — Welcome back! Today, in Part 3 of our series, we’re diving into slab selection with our friends and partners at Walker Zanger — breaking down the beauty and differences between marble, quartz, porcelain, and onyx; plus the finishes that make them shine.

Marble — timeless, natural, and one-of-a-kind. Every slab is unique, with elegant veining that adds instant luxury. It’s softer, so it develops a patina over time — perfect if you love character. It does need regular sealing and a little extra care to avoid etching or staining.

Quartz — engineered for strength and consistency. You get durability, low maintenance, and a huge range of colors and patterns — ideal for busy kitchens and baths. It cleans up easily with mild soap and water — no sealing required.

Porcelain — ultra-durable, stain- and heat-resistant, and available in large formats with incredibly realistic stone looks — great for indoor or outdoor use. It’s virtually maintenance-free — just wipe and go.

Onyx — striking, translucent, and dramatic — often used as a statement piece or backlit for a glowing effect. Its beauty comes with delicacy — it’s softer and more porous, so it requires sealing and gentle cleaning to keep it pristine.

Now — let’s talk finishes:
 Polished — glossy, reflective, and dramatic. Honed — smooth and matte for a softer, more organic feel.
 Leathered or Suede — textured, tactile, and resistant to fingerprints — adding depth and interest.
