Wowza! It’s #4ptfriday friends and we are flashing back and jumping forward all at the same time! 🤪 We barely caught our breath from the last Show House and it’s already that time again (wait, WHAT!?! 😳); yep, the @pasadenashowcasehouse for Spring 2020 is underway and we can’t wait (we think 😬). Not sure if anything could ever measure up to the amazing experience Cliff and I had together at this past show, but we’re definitely considering taking another (HUGE) bite of the showcase madness! The selected site this year is a charming storybook home with ginormous grounds, and this year a new theme will guide and inspire the designers: ECO-FRIENDLY DESIGN! Will we take a bite? #MentorMonday: Bookcase Styling 101 ✨ We believe in the creative and honest grouping of our client’s personal treasures to give their collectibles a one-of-a-kind super power; and lets face it guys, BOOKS are key. ALWAYS books (I personally have 100’s). Real ones. The ones that become the reflection and illustration of our life. Our timeline, so to speak. I can’t tell you how many rich spontaneous beautiful moments have happened when people ask me about my giant college text book on my coffee table. Yeah, the one with all the @postit tabs and ripped cover and bookmarks. It holds HUGE meaning for me and it reminds me everyday that in the face overwhelming adversity, I can do anything! So, why wouldn’t I want to see that, right!?! So, as you can guess, we keep it very real. Organized? DEFINITELY! But honest, inviting, and real. And for us, an honest home is ALL kinds of pretty! Intentionally making space for hand sketching and brainstorming new ideas has become more and more challenging as paperwork and projects ramp up, and the fall season deadlines takeover the schedule. As a creative spirit and an architectural designer, I must feed my soul/brain machine; and the only thing that connects all the dots for me is putting pen to paper. It’s amazing how much inspiration and clarity comes thru this process; but if I don’t put it on my schedule, it may be the last thing I do. Ironic. It’s the most important thing I can do and at times it is so hard to just sit and allow it. So today I’m creating space, to let it flow. What inspires and connects you creatively?

Good morning friends!!! It’s #tradetalktuesday and I’m just curious: Do you have a favorite go-to signature flower or floral style that you use in ALL your photo shoots or home events regardless of season or style, or do you select the florals to suit the space, holiday, or theme? Anyone that knows ME knows that my go-to favorite is white peonies, but let’s face it, they’re seasonal and expensive!!! So my next go-to favorite is #Hydrengeas, usually in all white. BUT, recently I have fallen in love with a more practical, longer lasting floral and one that appeals to a more #modernminimalist space. Here we used a mix of artichokes, ficus leaves, and soft pink tropical florals for a dense bold structure for an exotic yet #cleanfreshmodern look that will last about 10 days and is VERY cost effective!

Knowing when to slow down and take a break is everything. Listen to your body and learn your body’s subtle signals of overload. Respect the function of intuition and learn how to read your body’s own message board. It’s just as important to take time off as it is to work hard (and trust me, I know exactly how hard it really is to shut down and take time off 🤦🏼‍♀️). But, I also know this... One can’t physically put in the hours, make profoundly impactful decisions, and be creatively clear without intentional moments of restoration. Whether it’s an hour each day, a lunch break, or a treasured day or weekend off; it is especially important for entrepreneurs to be mindful of rest. So... Good morning friends! Just a quick detour from our typical interior design build posts to share a little something personal today (although I AM sitting in a recently completed kitchen remodel, but more on that soon... 😉) Thanks to my friend @gigihvrris for the inspiration for this post.

I was young once . . . To all my female friends from 40 years and up...We see wrinkles, grey hair and extra pounds.
.
Menopause may have appeared or is just waiting around the corner.
.
We have raised families, run households and businesses, paid the bills, dealt with diseases, sadness, and have lost those that were nearest and dearest to us.
.
We are survivors...
We are warriors...
We are women.
.
Like a classic car or a fine wine. Even if our bodies may not be what they once were, they carry our souls, our courage and our strength. We enter this chapter of our lives with humility, grace and pride. With everything we have been through we should never feel bad about getting older; it is a privilege that is denied to so many. ♥️

Here’s a peek at our signature style #cleanfreshmodern vignette we designed for the Monogram Experience Center! This petite service bar design features the 18” and 24” refrigerator columns and the new 24” under counter wine fridge (with customizable panel and wine drawer fronts) and is one of NINE new gallery vignettes showcasing the beautiful @monogramappliances appliances by a team of amazing designers from all over the country (and I mean, AMAZING), set to launch this Fall! Thank you @monogramappliances family for the opportunity to put our special personal stamp on the newly remodeled training center, and for the honor and privilege of being part of the 2019 #MonogramDesignerCouncil advisory team. So excited to visit for the installation and see the entire gallery in person soon!!!

Oh hey there beautiful friends and inspiring pretty kitchen...✨ We just wanted to hop on here and say THANK YOU and WELCOME! We’re thrilled and super grateful you’re here to follow along and feel blessed to have so many NEW friends! 🙏🏻 We thought an update was a little overdue, so here goes: We’ve been insanely (and gratefully) busy developing, designing, building, on-boarding, and completing projects (thank you God, and we can’t wait to share 👏🏻); we continue to help our community recover from the horrific California fires of last Fall, and happy to report that we’ve made a positive impact; we’re regrouping and expanding our partnerships AND our team, reviewing the growth lessons from the past three years (ouch, but also, YAY) and making key, strategic and much needed leveling-up upgrades to our firm 👍🏻; we’re getting back to our beloved blog journaling and will have some very cool before-and-after posts coming your way soon; and finally forging new kinds of courageous (and honestly, kinda’ scary, but totally exciting) pathways that we hope will continue to uplift, inform, surprise and inspire you! We’re keeping it very real around here, and after 30+ years in the business, Cliff and I still seem to be discovering ourselves!
